Supporting Disabled Surfers SA's New Equipment
There’s something you might not know that happens at Moana Beach: Russell and the team at Disabled Surfers Association SA are giving individuals with disabilities the chance to enjoy our beautiful local beaches and experience the thrill of catching a wave.
I’ve volunteered for the Disabled Surfers Association before, where I saw firsthand the joy and excitement on the faces of participants, both young and old, as they rode the waves. It was a heartwarming experience to witness the positive impact this organization has on so many lives.
However, I was shocked to learn that due to a technicality, they did not qualify for crucial State Government grants that would help cover the cost of essential equipment. This is a significant oversight given the vital role they play in our community.
The Disabled Surfers Association SA is entirely volunteer-run and offers its services free of charge. Their dedication and generosity has been truly inspiring. To support their invaluable work, the Malinauskas Labor Government committed $25,000 to fund the equipment they need to continue their incredible efforts.
Grants like this ensure that these heroes can keep making a difference and providing life-changing experiences for people with disabilities.
