Welcome to the future of healthcare in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
The Malinauskas State Government is proud to announce a monumental $74 million investment in Noarlunga Hospital, marking the largest capital infusion the site has ever seen.
This transformational project will see the hospital’s capacity soar by over 50%, adding 48 new beds to accommodate a growing community’s healthcare needs. With this expansion, Noarlunga Hospital will bolster its capacity from 92 to 140 beds, providing essential healthcare support right here in our own backyard.
Central to this development are 24 new mental health beds, fulfilling a crucial election promise and addressing a pressing need for specialized care. Alongside these, 24 new inpatient medical beds will be added, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for all residents.
A cornerstone of this initiative is the creation of a state-of-the-art $36 million Mental Health Rehabilitation Service. This purpose-built facility will offer 24 specialist beds tailored for individuals with high and complex needs, designed in collaboration with clinical experts.
Additionally, a new $38 million 24-bed Inpatient Medical Unit will be established, further enhancing Noarlunga Hospital’s ability to provide high-quality acute care close to home.
Furthermore, construction will soon begin on an expanded renal dialysis unit at Noarlunga Hospital, featuring a new $2.8 million facility with 12 chairs, providing critical care for patients requiring renal services.
These developments are not just about expanding infrastructure—they are about ensuring our communities receive the vital healthcare they deserve. By easing pressure on emergency departments and improving patient flow, these initiatives will contribute to reducing delays and enhancing overall healthcare outcomes for all.
